Dana Block
Actor

Dana has done time on stages across the country.  She recently returned from the 2008 Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Louisville, KY, where she worked with Artistic Director, Curt Tofteland, who pioneered a hugely successful Sheakespeare program at Kentucky's Luther Luckett Prison, and about whom the award-winning documentary Shakespeare Behind Bars was made.
     Her professional season
where she performed in JULIUS CEASAR (Calpurnia) and PERICLES (The Bawd, Dionyza, Princess Thaisa).   She has also done Shakespeare with the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival and Shakespeare San Francisco.
In Chicago, her home town, she has a long list of stage credits, performing contemporary, classical and new work.  She has regularly performed her own original pieces at Chicago's funkily prestigious "Abbie Hoffmann Died for our Sins" Festival.
Dana moved to Jamestown, NY, 4 years ago, and made her Buffalo debut with the Irish Classical Theatre Company's production of Dario Fo's THE ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST.  In addition, she has performed with Theater of Youth, Torn Space, and Buffalo Lab Theater.
She has produced her own new work at the 05' and 06' Buffalo Infringement Festival, where she performed MY HAIR PIECE and Queen KonG.
Subversive Theatre is proud to have a such an experienced and well-traveled eclectic actress among our ranks.  Thus far, Dana has been a part of our staged readings of
BURY THE DEAD (2005), WAITING FOR LEFTY (May Day, 2006), and SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER (May Day, 2007).
Most recently Dana appeared in our production of
PALACE OF THE END at the grand opening of "The Manny Fried Playhouse."  She was very pleased to at long last have the opportunity to appear with Subversive Theatre in a full-scale production . . . and we were more than pleased to get her into the mix.
