Meet the Gang
Jeanette Schneiderman
Board Secretary/Education Director/Newsletter Editor
A global studies teacher at Buffalo's Bennett High
School, Subversive Theatre could not ask for a more fitting person to take
charge of our educational programs than Jeanette. A member of the
Buffalo Teachers' Federation and the Working Families Party, she hails from
a long and proud working class tradition.
Over the last few years, Jeanette has come through for
Subversive Theatre in many capacities such as providing house management for
our 2004 Curtain Up production of MOTHER DIS-COURAGE and for our 2005
production of sUBVERsIVE sHORTs, assisting
with poster design for our staged reading of IN THE HEART OF AMERICA
in December of 2004, and providing invaluable organizational assistance for
our staged reading of Bertolt Brecht's THE MOTHER for May Day 2005 as
well as for our staged reading of WHAT I HEARD ABOUT IRAQ in March of
2006.
In February 2005, Jeanette arranged for Subversive
Theatre to perform PAUL ROBESON SPEAKS OUT! for the students of
Bennett High School as part of Black History Month. This proved to be
an excellent event and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to take this
story of a radical Black activist directly to people who needed to hear it
most.
In 2006, Jeanette added the role of Newsletter Editor to
her many tasks. She's now the one who tirelessly forges our sporadic publication The
Subversive Call Board into existence.
Recently, Jeanette served as both stage
manager and props mistress for our production of Bertolt Brecht's THE
EXCEPTION AND THE RULE for the 2007 Buffalo "infringement"
Festival and house manager for our productions of WAITING FOR LEFTY
and NICKEL AND DIMED in 2008.
Thanks for all your hard work, Jenny. We'd be
lost without ya!
