Meet the
Collective
Susan Forbes
Associate Artistic Director/Director/Actor
Susan has worked in the
professional theatre for 25 years as an actor and a director. Her work
has taken her to a variety of U. S. cities including Atlanta, Boston, Kansas
City, St. Louis, Chicago, Palm Beach and Portland, Oregon.
Her
experience has allowed her the privilege of working with many 'greats'
of the stage and screen including Tommy Tune, Cloris Leachman, Stacy Keach,
Tim Conway, David Hyde Pierce, Don Ameche, Billy Crystal, Hinton Battle,
Jodi Benson, Luis Perez and Robby Benson.
Theatres include The MUNY, Kenley Players,
Trinity Repertory Company, Pasadena Playhouse, Cleveland Playhouse, and The
Opera Company of the Palm Beaches and The Hangar Theatre.
Susan is also an educator who has taught in a
variety of environments including Ohio University, the Northwest
Children’s Theatre, Wells College and most recently Empire State College.
A member of Actors' Equity Association and SDC she is active in professional
theatre associations. Her local
credits include STOP KISS and RECKLESS
at Buffalo State College and SQUEEZE BOX at Alleyway
Theatre. She was also recently the Assistant Director on SOMEONE
WHO'LL WATCH OVER ME at Irish Classical Theatre.
Other directing credits include AN AMERICAN
DAUGHTER, QUILTERS, A... MY NAME IS ALICE, CRIMES OF THE HEART, AS YOU LIKE
IT, DURANG DURANG, A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM, NO EXIT, THE 15 MINUTE HAMLET,
NUNSENSE, THE CLUB, CLOUD NINE, TOP GIRLS, THE YELLOW WALLPAPER, I STAND
BEFORE YOU NAKED, and many others.
With Subversive Theatre Susan has directed the
vignette Vessels as part of
the showcase sUBVERsIVE sHORTs 2009 and our staged reading of Tony
Kushner's HOMEBODY/KABUL.

TARGETS (coming up in April 2010) and THE FURIES OF MOTHER JONES
(for May Day 2010).
