Meet the Gang

Thomas LaChiusa
Actor/Director/Teacher/Filmmaker/Playwright

A member of the Actors' Equity Association, Tom has a healthy list of NYC stage and screen appearances under his belt including the independent film IF LUCY FELL.  Locally he has been seen in Shakespeare in Delaware Park's production of A COMEDY OF ERRORS, the Irish Classical Theatre's LADY WINDEMERE'S FAN, Musicalfare's GUYS ON ICE, and the Buffalo Ensemble Theatre's MARTY.

Tom is also known for his work as a teacher of acting at Niagara University and as a writer.  His original play EBENEZER S., co-written with his brother Matt, was produced by the Buffalo Ensemble Theatre in December of 2003.  As a filmmaker, Tom has directed independent works like HONEYMOON HAUNTS and GVI: Life in a Northern Town.
A long-time devotee of Commedia Dell'Arte and other controversial, experimental and -- often highly political -- theatrical styles, Tom feels quite at home as a member of the Subversive Theatre Collective.
Tom's first appearance with Subversive Theatre came in our original staged reading of MOTHER DIS-COURAGE: Just Another Absurdist, Neo-Brechtian, Anti-Imperialist Extravaganza in July of 2004 (pictured above).  Most recently, Tom took on the role of Private Levy (1st Corpse) in our staged reading of BURY THE DEAD for the Buffalo installment of the international "Bury the Dead Project" on September 19th, 2005.
