A tale for the 99% if ever there was one! Look out Wall Street,
the animals are coming!
For the third show in our
2011-2012 Season of Plays, Subversive Theatre is teaming up with Theatre
Jugend to present OCCUPY ANIMAL FARM --
a brand new version of George Orwell's searing tale of revolution,
manipulation, and betrayal. Our stage adaptation by emerging local
author Justin Karcher is crafted specifically to connect with the new wave of
activism erupting in America today with an important lesson that suddenly
seems more relevant than ever.
Farmer Jones, beware!
The pigs are rising up... and they've brought the rest of the 99% with 'em!!!
This fresh and energetic
rendition involves a series of inventive performance techniques including mask
work, stylized movement, original music, and much, much more.
