Coming has never been so much fun!!!
us as we take a subversive look at the lighter side of the
Apocalypse in this new play by one of America's fastest emerging new
playwrights. END DAYS by
Deborah Zoe Laufer offers a wry collision of icons as Jesus Christ,
Stephen Hawking, and Elvis swirl in and out of the lives of what just might be
the most dysfunctional family of Twenty-First Century America. It's a
sharp, inventive, and deliciously irreverent comedy with a serious message
about blind faith, love, and family in today's world.
production of END DAYS is graced
by Buffalo starlet Wendy Hall as the frighteningly perky
Jew-turned-Born-Again-Christian matriach opposite Philip Farugia as the
depression-racked father who narrowly escaped when the World Trade Center came
crashing down. To complete this dysfunctional family unit, emerging
young actress Eliza Vann plays their lugubrious goth-punk daughter and
fresh-faced Michael Wachowiak as her Elvis-obsessed suitor. John
Kennedy* and Joshua Robinson complete the bizarre band as Jesus
Christ and Stephen Hawking respectively.
END DAYS is directed by Subversive Theatre's Associate Producer Michael
Lodick* with Sound Design by our resident sound dude John Shotwell*,
Set Design by Lauren Millman, Lighting Design by Emily Pedersen*,
and Costume Design by Kaitlin Russo.
Deborah Zoe Laufer is fast becoming one of America's most performed
playwrights. Over the last year alone, seven of her plays have
enjoyed 20 renditions at renowned venues from Rochester's Geva Theatre to
Cleveland Playhouse and even Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre.
END DAYS runs October 23rd - November 15th with performances
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm. All shows are at our
regular performance venue, The Manny Fried Playhouse at 255 Great Arrow
Avenue on the third floor of North Buffalo. Tickets are $25 general
admission or $20 for students, seniors, and Subversive Theatre Members
