"The thrust for freedom is the quality in tragedy which exalts.  The revolutionary questioning of the stable environment is what terrifies.  In no way is the common man debarred from such thoughts or such actions."

-Arthur Miller
1949

About the Crew

FOUNDATIONS
Here are all the mighty behind-the-scenes-ians without whom none of this would ever have come to life.

Kurt "Vile" Schneiderman
(Director/Playwright/Lighting Designer)
Subversive Theatre's Founder & Artistic Director, Kurt is thrilled and terrified to at long last be bringing to life his most ambitious of theatrical creations.
This is the fourth of Kurt's original plays that Subversive Theatre has produced -- the others being MANIFEST DESTINY BLUES in 2003, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO SHOOT THE CZAR in 2004 and MOTHER DIS-COURAGE in 2005.
Kurt sends all his love to Jenny the Magnificent without whom all of this would be worthless.

Virginia Brannon
(Stage Manager & Assistant Director)
The newest member of the Subversive Theatre, Virginia is a vital component to our production.  A recent graduate of Niagara University's Theatre Program, Virginia is an experienced stage manager, director, and actress.
Recently she served as stage manager for the New Phoenix Theatre's productions of BLUE/ORANGE and THE ORGANIC MOVEMENT OF CHAIR AND PITCHER.  At Lewiston's Theater-in-the-Mist, she directed their rendition of WAIT TILL DARK and starred in their production of NUNSENSE.
Virginia was also very active as an organizer and director for the 2006 Buffalo "infringement" Festival.
This is Virginia's first project with Subversive Theatre.

Kevin Morrison
(Assistant Stage Manager & Props Master)
Kevin . . . a.k.a. "Dude" . . . is a refugee of the Theatre Program at Buffalo State College.  For the last four years he has served as an assistant stage manager for Studio Arena Theatre.  He also recently made his stage debut in their production of THE FOURTH WISE MAN.
Kevin has also been closely involved with various productions for the 2005 and 2006 Buffalo "infringement" Festival.
This is Kevin's first time working with Subversive Theatre.

David Butler
(Set Designer)
A long-time set crafter for the Irish Classical Theatre, the Buffalo United Artists Theatre, the Paul Robeson Theatre and many others, we're thrilled to have an artiste of David's caliber forging the set for FOUNDATIONS.
In addition to his many talents as a craftsman, David is also a gifted actor.  He can currently be seen in the Buffalo United Artists' production of LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!
FOUNDATIONS is David's first time working on a Subversive Theatre project . . . but we hope there will be many more to come.

Brian Wantuch
(Sound Designer)
A stalwart member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local #10, Brian has crafted sounds for Theater of Youth, the Stripteasers, the New Phoenix Theatre Company, as well as a long list of independent projects.
The quintessential live-free-or-die creative artist, Brian is the perfect fit for an unprecedented project such as this.

Tessa Lew
(Costume Designer)
Tessa is a long-established member of the costume department at Irish Classical Theatre.  She only recently decided to try her hand at designing shows.  Her first project was TornSpace's production of QUILLS . . . for which she received a nomination for Best Costume Design at the 2006 Buffalo Artie Awards.
This is Tessa's first time working with Subversive Theatre.

Andrew J. Liegl
(Fight Co-ordinator)
A recent graduate of Niagara University's Theatre Program, Andy is a certified fight co-ordinator as well as the Artistic Director of his own production company, Totally Liegl Productions.
Also a capable actor, Andy can currently be seen in the Buffalo United Artists' production of LOVE!  VALOUR!  COMPASSION! (performing opposite our Set Designer David Butler!).

This production is Andy's first time working with Subversive Theatre.

Michael Sprada
(Poster Designer)
Until recently, Mike was a full-time graphic artist for Studio Arena Theatre who has now stuck out on his own forming his own graphic arts studio.  This is the second time Mike has crafted a poster for a Subversive Theatre production -- the first time being our 2003 rendition of MANIFEST DESTINY BLUES.
Needless to say, we're thrilled to see Mike back in the mix.

Michael Fanelli
(Promotional Director & House Manager)
Subversive Theatre's Executive Director and Secretary of our Board of Trustees, Mike routinely plays a variety of crucial roles in bringing our productions to life.
As always, we're delighted to have Mike on board.  Thanks, Mike, we couldn't do it with out ya!
