Virginia Brannon*
(Director)
     This is Virginia's first time directing a full-scale project for Subversive Theatre.  Other directorial work includes WAIT TILL DARK and THE SUNSHINE BOYS for Lewiston's Theater-in-the-Mist and THE RESPECTFUL PROSTITUTE for the 2006 Buffalo "infringement" Festival.
     A graduate of Niagara University's Theatre Program, Virginia is an experienced director, actor, and stage manager who also works with the New Phoenix Theatre and Actors' Anonymous.
     With Subversive Theatre Virginia also directed the vignette "Please Remove This Stuffed Animal from My Head" as part of SUBVERSIVE SHORTS 2007 and stage managed our productions of FOUNDATIONS (2007) and WAITING FOR LEFTY (2008).


Hasheen DeBerry*
(Stage Manager)
     A recent graduate of Canisius College, Hasheen is a very active member of Subversive Theatre who does just about everything in theatre from acting and stage management to lights, sound, and set construction.
     Recent technical projects include stage manager of FOOL FOR LOVE (New Phoenix Theatre) as well as serving a Technical Director for Road Less Traveled Productions.
     For Subversive Theatre, Hasheen served as the technical director for SUBVERSIVE SHORTS 2007 as well as performing in the following productions: FOUNDATIONS (2007), SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER (May Day 2007), THE EXCEPTION AND THE RULE (2007 Buffalo "infringement" Festival), and WAITING FOR LEFTY (2008).

John Shotwell
(Sound Designer)
     John is a freelance audio engineer and stagehand.  His extensive list of sound design credits include: New Phoenix Theatre (FOOL FOR LOVE, THE COUNTRY GIRL, THE RESERVOIR, and others), Road Less Traveled Productions (BONEGRINDERS, HOMELAND, PEDDLER'S BONES, and others), Shakespeare in Delaware Park (LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, HAMLET), and the Lazlo/Rozler Noise Project, which has performed at the Burchfield-Penny Arts Center, and Big Orbit/Soundlab.
     With Subversive Theatre, John has crafted soundscapes for our productions of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO SHOOT THE CZAR (2004), WHAT I HEARD ABOUT IRAQ (2006), and MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE (2008).
     Outside the world of Theater, John also works for a variety of rock bands.  He has toured around the world with The John and Mary Band, Moxy Fruvous, The 10,000 Maniacs, The Horse Flies, and Enter the Haggis.


Jessica Stuber*
(Costume Designer)
     An enthusiastic member of Subversive Theatre and a recent graduate of the Musical Theatre Program at the University at Buffalo, Jessica has experience with a number of technical aspects of theatre in addition to her on stage work.  On this production she is pulling double-duty as both a performer and as our costume designer.
     NICKEL AND DIMED is Jessica's second time working with Subversive Theatre.  Earlier this year she performed in our production of WAITING FOR LEFTY at the New Phoenix Theatre.

Dyan O'Connell
(Set, Props & Lighting Designer)
     Dyan is excited to be working on her second production with Subversive Theatre. She designed the set for Subversive’s production of ‘Waiting For Lefty’ earlier this year.
     Around town Dyan also does design and tech work for Seneca Niagara/ Allegany Casino, UB Center For the Arts, and local band Lazlo Hollyfeld. This past fall she was working and teaching in the UB Theatre Department.
     Dyan has a M.F.A. degree in Stage Design from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and a B.A. degree in Theatre Design and Technology from the University at Buffalo.


Carlie Todoro-Rickus*
(Lighting Crew)
     Resident Lighting Designer for both Subversive Theatre and the Configuration Dance Company, Carlie is a visual artist who uses light as her medium on a living canvas. Recent designs projects include THE WOMAN BEFORE for New Phoenix Theatre and IN THE MIST for the Zodiaque Dance Studio Ensemble. 
     Carlie has a degree in Fine Arts from the University at Buffalo and is also proud to design and tech for UB Center for the Arts, Studio Arena Theatre, RPM Productions, and -- of course -- Subversive Theatre!
     Most recently, Carlie provided the lighting design for our production of WAITING FOR LEFTY earlier this year.

Kurt Schneiderman*
(Lighting Crew)
     Subversive Theatre's Founder and Artistic Director is also an Artie Award-winning lighting designer and is proud to play a humble role assisting with the lighting work on this production.  
     Kurt has performed technical work in just about every possible capacity for a long list of Buffalo's theaters including Studio Arena, Kavinoky, Theater of Youth, Shakespeare in Delaware Park, New Phoenix, and Buffalo Ensemble Theatre.


Michael Klemm
(Poster Designer)
     Mike is a graduate of Buffalo State College with a BA in Graphic Design, class of 1980.  His friendship with local theatre began during his tenure as Art Director and Editor of Metro Weekend from 1995 to 1997.  He later covered theatre, and was art director, for the short-lived paper Things To Do, Places to Go, People To See
     Mike currently is Art Director at Automart Magazine, designs the posters for The New Pheonix Theatre, and writes the video column in abOUT and Outcome Magazines.  His reviews are archived at CinemaQueer.com
     NICKEL AND DIMED is Mike's second time crafting posters for Subversive Theatre . . . the first being the poster for WAITING OF WAITING earlier this year.

Michael Fanelli*
(Promotional Director & House Manager)
     As Subversive Theatre's Executive Director, Board Member, and Volunteer Co-ordinator, Mike routinely plays a variety of crucial roles in bringing our productions to life.
     As always, we're delighted to have him on board.  Thanks, Mike, we couldn't do it with out ya!
