Brian Zybala*
(Director)
Brian has been experimenting with physical theater
for the last eight years. As a student at SUNY at Buffalo, he studied physical theater
under Sally Fox & Vincent O'Neill and directing under Kazimierz Braun
& mentorship of Jerry Finnegan.
Brian directed a student production of J.B.
while also working
with the experimental theater group RANT. His first professional performance in an
experimental project was THE
BEDEVILED CHEST performed with Skeleton's in the Closet Productions.
Since then he's made multiple appearances with Subversive Theatre.
OUROBOROS marks Brian's professional directorial debut and
we count ourselves very lucky to have an artist with his unique vision on the
job!

Virginia Brannon*
(Stage Manager)
Subversive Theatre's co-Resident Dramaturg, Virginia
is a graduate of Niagara University's Theatre Department. An experienced
actress, director, and stage manager, she also works regularly with Lewiston's
Theatre-in-the-Mist and the Buffalo "infringement" Festival.
This is Virginia's fourth time stage managing a
Subversive Theatre project. She has also directed our productions of NICKEL
AND DIMED (2008) and PALACE
OF THE END (2008) as well as the vignette "Please
Remove this Stuffed Animal from My Head" as part of SUBVERSIVE
SHORTS 2007. |

Dyan O'Connell*
(Set & Poster Designer)
Dyan is excited to be working on yet another production with Subversive Theatre. Our
Troupe's co-Resident Set Designer, she's crafted sets for the last six productions -- WAITING
FOR LEFTY, NICKEL
AND DIMED, ...AND
THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS., PALACE
OF THE END, and DROP HAMMER.
Dyan has an MFA in Stage Design from
Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a BA in Theatre
Design and Technology from the University at Buffalo. Designs in Dallas include HAMLET and SPRING
AWAKENING.

John Shotwell*
(Sound Designer)
Subversive Theatre's Resident Sound Designer, John is a freelance audio engineer and stagehand.
His extensive list of sound design credits include: New Phoenix Theatre, Road
Less Traveled Productions, Shakespeare in Delaware Park, and the Lazlo/Rozler Noise Project.
As a sound tech, John has toured the World with Rock
Groups The
John and Mary Band, Moxy Fruvous, The 10,000
Maniacs, The Horse Flies, and Enter the Haggis.
With Subversive Theatre, John has conjured soundscapes
for a long list of our productions from A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO SHOOT THE CZAR
way back in 2004 to -- most recently -- DROP HAMMER. |

Kurt Schneiderman*
(Lighting Designer & Operator)
Subversive Theatre's Founder & Artistic Director,
Kurt is also an award-winning lighting designer. After eleven years as
part of the lighting crew for Studio Arena Theatre, he has provided lighting
design for the Buffalo Ensemble Theatre, New Phoenix Theatre, Alleyway Theatre,
Performing Arts High School, and -- of course -- Subversive Theatre.
He's excited to have the chance to craft
yet another wild, experiencial, pathos-ridden lighting-scape for this
intensely atmospheric project.

Jessica Stuber*
(Costume Designer)
An enthusiastic member of Subversive Theatre, Jessica
has lent her talents to many of our productions both as an actor and as a
costume designer.
A recent graduate of the Musical Theatre Program at
the University at Buffalo, Jessica has experience with a number of technical
aspects of theatre in addition to her work on stage.
This is the third time Jessica has taken on the role
of costume designer for a Subversive Theatre production -- the other two were NICKEL
AND DIMED and ...AND
THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS. |

Monica Karwan*
(Movement Choreographer)
The proud mother of two daughters, Monica is a
graduate of UB's Department of Theatre and Dance who went on to get her M.A. in Expressive Arts Therapy in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. A skilled actress and dancer, Monica has appeared in
experimental genre-defying productions from London, England to Kingstown, Jamaica.
This is Monica's third time providing choreography
for a Subversive Theatre production -- the others were THE
EXCEPTION AND THE RULE for the 2007 "infringement"
Festival and ...AND
THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS. for the 2008
"infringement" Festival.

Candice Kogut*
(Fight Choreographer)
A talented actress with stage credits that include
the New Phoenix Theatre, Alt Theatre, and Subversive Theatre, and Totally
Liegl Productions, Candice is also active behind the scenes as a fight
choreographer.
As a graduate of Niagara University's Theatre Program
she is certified in stage combat and previously provided the fight
choreography for our production of ...AND
THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS. for last summer's Buffalo "infringement"
Festival.
