"Even though the old laws of convention be broken: may we get a free theatre where one has freedom for everything, except the freedom to lack talent and be a hypocrite or a fool!"

-August Strindberg
1889

Kelly Beuth*
("Soldier")
A member of both Subversive Theatre and the Brazen-Faced Varlets, Kelly is an actor, director, and theatre educator who has worked throughout the Buffalo area for over seventeen years.  Recent acting projects include THE ANGELINA PROJECT (Theater Plus), and RAMONA AND JULIET (Brazen-Faced Varlets) -- a role that won her "Best Supporting Actress" at the 2007 Artie Awards!
Kelly directs professionally (Alleyway, Pandora's Box, Toronto Fringe Festival) and has taught theater arts for Genesee Community and Daemen Colleges, City Honors and Performing Arts High Schools, and Studio Arena's Theater School.
Kelly's Subversive Theatre credits include WAITING FOR LEFTY (2006) and SUBVERSIVE SHORTS 2007 (2007) and NICKEL AND DIMED (2008).

Lawrence Rowswell*
("Dr. David Kelly")
Actor and photographer, Larry has a wide range of experience with both traditional and non-traditional theatrical endeavors -- from conventional projects with Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Theater of Youth, Buffalo United Artists, and the Irish Classical Theatre to more experimental work with the Blue Garrote Collective and Morphine Hearts Productions.
A long-time member of our troupe, his subversive credits include: ARE YOU NOW OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN (2004), BURY THE DEAD (2005), WAITING FOR LEFTY (2006), and FOUNDATIONS (2007), and -- most recently -- ...AND THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS. (2008).

Dana Block*
("Nehrjas Al Saffarh")
Dana has done time on stages across the country including Shakespeare Festivals of Kentucky, New Jersey, and San Francisco.
In her home town of Chicago she has a long list of stage credits featuring classical, contemporary, and new experimental work.  She regularly performs her own original pieces at Chicago's funkily prestigious "Abbie Hoffmann Died for our Sins" Festival.
Dana moved to Jamestown, NY, 4 years ago, and made her Buffalo acting debut in the Irish Classical Theatre Company's production of THE ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST.  Since then she has performed with Theater of Youth, Torn Space, and Buffalo Lab Theater.
With Subversive Theatre, Dana has performed in our staged readings of BURY THE DEAD (2005), WAITING FOR LEFTY (May Day, 2006), and SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER (May Day, 2007).
She is very pleased to at long last appear in a full-scale Subversive production!
