"George"
by Michael Fanelli of Buffalo, New York
About the Play:
"George" is a bizarre and
wonderfully irreverent twist on the old story of America's Founding Father as
the original "George W." returns from the great beyond with
some choice words for our modern day President.
"With all of George W. Bush's talk about
terrorism," explains the author, "I wanted to do something to
make people face the fact that the Father of our Nation was often denounced as
a 'terrorist.'"
The playwright goes on to say, "I started
thinking of the Father of our Nation as an ordinary father -- big daddy -- who
learns that his child has done something wrong -- a grievous error like
cracking up the car. The rest flowed from there."
