"The subjects for our people's theatre will have to be new. Its
audience has changed, and now we must talk to this audience about itself.
As far as I am concerned, I now have nothing more to say to the
bourgeois."
-Jean-Paul Sartre

Lara Haberberger*
(sHORTs Curator)
This is the first time the "sHORTs"
have had a Curator to co-ordinate the whole project and Lara proved
definitively how valuable that role can be.
Lara
earned her MFA from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
where she worked with the Washington Stage Guild, Repstage, the Washington
Shakespeare Company, Source Theatre, and the Kennedy Center of the Arts.
In
Buffalo, Lara founded the Brazen Faced Varlets directing and/or acting in a
long list of their productions and acting in BUA's DOS LESBOS and RAMONA
AND JULIET.
With Subversive Theatre, Lara directed the shorts LINDSAY (2007)
and SOUTHPAW STANCE (2009) as well as acting in our stage reading
of SPEAK
TRUTH TO POWER (May Day 2007).
Lara also appeared in Necessary Targets, a collaboration with the BFV and STC
this past spring.

Manager, Rachel is pleased to be stage managing her fifth Subversive production . . . the first
four were THE HAIRY APE
for the 2009 Buffalo "infringement" Festival, TWILIGHT,
WIDOWS, and -- most
recently -- HARVEST.
Rachel has been involved in
theatre since the tender age of eight years old, and has worked on many, many
shows both on stage and behind the scenes. She holds an A.S. in Theatre from Finger Lakes
Community College and recently earned her B.A. in Theatre from UB.
A mother of two beautiful
daughters, and married to the perfect man, Rachel is very humble. |

Ashley Bobbett
(Set Design)
Ashley is proud to say that her mis-en-scene for sUBVERsIVE
sHORTs 2010 is the first set she has both designed AND built.
It was while attending Onondaga Community College as
a Fine Arts Major that she realized she wanted to be a Set Designer. She
transferred to Buffalo State College where she switched to theatre.
At Buff State she worked for last year's productions
of ANYTHING GOES, IN THE BLOOD, and THE MYTH OF MILES
building set pieces and props.
Outside the theater, she makes sandwiches at the
Globe Market and also enjoys dancing, sewing, painting, and riding her bike.
This is Ashley's first time working with Subversive
Theatre and we are very happy to have her on board!

Tom Scahill*
(House Management)
A member of Subversive Theatre's Board of Directors
and the Organizer of our Troupe, Tom has long played an important role
tackling the unglamorous logistical tasks that make a theatre run . . . and,
as if this wasn't enough, he's also acted in a number of our productions!
On this project, Tom is once again playing a crucial
role overseeing the challenges of House Management and assembling a great team
of ushers, helpers, and do-ers, as well as doing the lion's share of the
postering. Way to go, Tom! |
