ABOUT THE PLAY.
   
"Do/Don't Do" is an Absurdist story of a Pavlov-esque experiment involving three unsuspecting pedestrians and a disembodied voice attempting to institute its will. 

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT.
   
Craig Abernethy.  Recent productions include "State of the Art” The Green Room at Twiggs/San Diego, "PeaceKeeper" Stone Soup Theatre/Seattle, "Lovely" "Swell!" and "He's Not 'Him'" New Perspectives’09/SD, “That Day” Fusion Theatre Co/Albuquerque, and "That's What I Love About Art" The Changing Scene/Bremerton,WA. Craig studied Dramatic Art at UC Berkeley and is member of the Dramatists Guild of America. See also www.craigabernethy.com.
    Diehard Subversive Theatre fans will recall that Craig's play THE LIGHTER SIDE OF OUTSOURCING TORTURE was presented as part of our sUBVERsIVE sHORTs 2007 Showcase.  We're very happy to have this opportunity to present Craig's idiosyncratic work once again.

ABOUT THE CAST.
Mary Mazur ("Claudia")
   
Mary is a 19 year old acting/journalism major at SUNY Fredonia. She enjoys long strolls on the beach, chocolate and singing in the rain. This is her first show with Subversive and she has had a blast. She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support!
    This is Mary's first time working with Subversive Theatre.

 

Scot Kaitanowski ("Chad")
   
Scot has appeared in a number of theater productions in the region including Crimes of the Heart, Mass Appeal, Tribute, The Good Doctor, and The Glass Menagerie with The WS Players, Tony and Tina’s Wedding with Actors Anonymous, Noises Off with Rocking Horse Productions and Funny Money with The Lancaster Regional Players, in which he received a Meritorious Achievement Award from The Theatre Association of NYS.  He also toured nationally with Indigo Productions in productions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Miracle Worker, Peter Pan and The Hobbit.  He recently starred in the short film, "Fight!" by Nathan Lewinski which was juried at the Chicago Film Festival and Sundance.
    Scot is also performing in the play HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME, the final vignette of the "Artuad" Line-up.  This is Scot's first time working with Subversive Theatre.

Sara Ball ("Joann")
   
Sara is a recent graduate of Niagara University where she received her BFA in Theatre Performance and a minor in Religious Studies.  As well as participating in the sUBVERSIVE sHORTS, Sara will also be performing in EX ONE (Gail) as part of the Buffalo Infringement Festival.  You may have recently seen Sara in NU’s productions of SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER (Miss Neville), ANYTHING GOES (Charity), THREEPENNY OPERA (Molly, Reporter), CABARET (Fritzie), and TOP GIRLS (Jeanine).  She has also performed as a dancer in THAT’S TAP TOO! And at DisneyWorld with Co.Dance.  Sara wants to thank her mom, friends and family for being a constant support!
    Sara is also performing in the play STRONG SISTAHS, the final vignette of the "Brecht" Line-up of this Showcase.  This is Sara's first time working with Subversive Theatre.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR.
Tamara S. Hopersberger*
    A native of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Tamara holds a BFA in Theatre Arts from Philadelphia's University of the Arts.  After graduation she toured with the national company New Legends and managed to take master classes with Judith Jamison, Frank Herbert, Uta Hagen, and many others.
     As a member of Subversive Theatre, she has appeared in our productions of OUROBOROS, sUBVERsIVE sHORTs 2009, DAYS OF THE COMMUNE, HOMEBODY/ KABUL, and -- most recently -- 84, as well as serving as Costume Designer for TWILIGHT this past Fall.
