ABOUT THE PLAY.
   
"Honey-Coated Ham" is an uncomfortably honest drama about the brutality of the meat industry as one unsuspecting girl learns the painful truth about the inner workings of her uncle's pig farm.

ABOUT THE CAST.
Robert Bozak ("Nathan")
   
Bob is a graduate of the improvisation program at Second City Toronto. Some of his most memorable work has been appearing in the cult horror classic films Slime City Massacre as the New Mayor of Slime City and Red Scream Nosferatu as R.M. Renfield. Bob also as appears in stage productions in Buffalo, most notable being Night of the Living Dead as Johnny and Nosferatu: The Legend of Dracula as Holmwood at the Ghostlight Theatre.

James Steiner ("Earl")
    
After graduating from Buffalo State College with a Bachelor of Arts - Theater degree, James makes his first appearance with Subversive Theatre.  Last year, he was seen in the world premiere of Clinton's Ditch: The Story of the Building of the Erie Canal (Dan O'Brien, Sean, Shovel Aid) both acting and assistant directing with Dan Shanahan for Erie Canal Drama Theater, Inc., East Side Mommas (Prison Guard) at Theaterloft with Ujima, Seven Keys To Baldpate (Peters) and Twelfth Night (Sir Andrew Aguecheek) as well as many others at Buffalo State College.
    He will soon be moving to England to work for his Master of Fine Arts - Theater degree from East 15 Acting School.
    James is also performing in the play IN THE BEGINNING, the fourth play of this Showcase's "Artaud" Line-up as well as provided the off-stage voice for the play MEDALS the third play of our Showcase's "Brecht" Line-up.

Laura Mooney ("Jean")
   
Laura is thrilled to be working with Subversive Theater.  She is a sophomore at Buffalo State College majoring in Theater.  She is a graduate from Kenmore West High School.  She has performed in THE SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY and SHAKESPEARE ABRIDGED under the direction of Vanessa Baryness Scinta at Kenmore West.  She has done several shows with the Town Players including A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU, STAGE GIRLS and MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL.  

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR.
Michael Fanelli*
    Native New Yorker Mike Fanelli lives in Elma with his wife, Anne, their two horses and seven cats, is thrilled to be working with two perceptive and talented casts and never thought he'd live to see the day that Subversive Theatre would have air-conditioning.
    Subversive Theatre's Executive Director and Treasurer, Mike is directing both this project and his own creation CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE COURTESAN.  Last year, Mike directed his original work PLANET OF THE ENRIQUES as part of sUBVERsIVE sHORTs 2009.  His original work GEORGE made its debut as part of the first-ever sHORTs Showcase back in 2005.
